School Council

What they do...
Our School council is made up of a group of Year 6 children who volunteer to give up their own time in order to make our school a better place. The council will work with children from all classes to suggest ideas, implement change and discuss potential changes to the school.
The School Council will:
- Take part in and discuss key school decisions
- Be a part of the school office team
- Play an active part in our school becoming more environmentally friendly
- Take part in fund raising
- Take part in recruitment processes, as and when this is needed
- Take part in whole school events such as parents’ evening and open evenings
- Many other activities to be decided by the School Council
Who is in the School Council
The School Council
The School Council consists of Year 6 children. There are two Chairs and two Vice Chairs who were voted for by the rest of the School Council. These roles involve the children recording the minutes of each meeting and ensuring any actions have been completed by the children. The Council meet every week after assembly. Actions are discussed and decided .
Some of the main plans for the school council are to:
1. Becoming more eco friendly
2. Developing the Library
3. Developing our Leadership Skills across the school

Key Events/Actions to date:
- The chair and vice-chair where voted by the school council.
- Roles discussed with all council members
- Parents' Evening Guides -role carried out
- Work with Just Digital to redesign the School Library (some children took part in the fitting over the holidays)
- Continuing to arrange the library
- Seeling Poppies and Remembrance Day materials
- Worked with the PTA to come up with some ideas for utilising some of the raised funds (New Books, Story Teller's Chair and Playground Games and Storage)
