Welcome to Locking Stumps Community Primary School
A very warm welcome to the Locking Stumps Community Primary School website. We invite you to explore our day-to-day learning and activities by visiting our X (formerly Twitter) account: @Lockiescps.
After four wonderful years as Deputy Headteacher, I was honored to become Headteacher in September 2017. From the moment I first stepped through the doors, I knew this was a special place and I feel privileged to lead such a vibrant and dedicated school community. Together with our exceptional team, I am committed to ensuring Locking Stumps is the best it can be for every child in our care.
Our staff and governors are incredibly hardworking and passionate, consistently going above and beyond for the children. We are immensely proud of the strong relationships we’ve built—with each other, our pupils and the wider community. These bonds are at the heart of our school’s success.
At Locking Stumps, we celebrate every child’s achievements and talents while striving for the highest standards in all that we do. Our core values emphasise the importance of being well-mannered, proud and aspirational, helping each child to develop into a confident and respectful individual.
In February 2022, Ofsted rated us as a 'Good' school. One visit to our school will allow you to experience firsthand our caring, inclusive atmosphere, the warmth of our relationships and our relentless commitment to ensuring the highest standards of learning for every child.
We are also fortunate to welcome many visitors to our school—whether they are parents, headteachers, inspectors, or teachers from other areas who have heard about the wonderful work we do. Their feedback is consistently the same: our children are polite, well-mannered, eager to learn and thriving in a positive school environment. The relationships within our school are strong, dynamic and a testament to our ethos.
In 2022, we were proud to be recognized as 'School of the Year' by the Warrington Guardian. This accolade reflects our dedication and the pride we take in our work, and we continue to build on our reputation every day.
In September 2024, we joined the One Community Trust and now work togher, in partnership with a group of schools who share the same ethos and values - visit the website here
We warmly invite you to visit our school and experience it for yourself. Our greatest ambassadors, the children, will be delighted to give you a guided tour. If you would like to arrange a visit or discuss any aspect of the education we provide, please don’t hesitate to contact our school office.
We look forward to meeting you.
Best regards,
Mr. Jamie Vermiglio
Headteacher
