Anti-Bullying week We will be launching with an NSPCC Speak Out Assembly on Monday morning! We are pleased to inform you that we are participating in the NSPCC’s Speak out. Stay safe. Programme this term. Speak out. Stay safe. is a programme for children aged 5-11 which aims to help children understand abuse in all its forms and to recognise the signs of abuse. Children are taught to speak out if they are worried, either to a safe adult or Childline. This child friendly programme is aligned with the curriculum and consists of age appropriate virtual assemblies and supporting classroom based activities which we have reviewed, alongside NSPCC volunteer led face to face workshops for children aged 6-7 and 9-11. The content is delivered in an engaging and interactive way with the help of the NSPCC mascot Buddy. If you would like to know more about the Speak out. These maps highlight safe walking routes, key crossings, and sustainable travel options to encourage pupils and parents to leave the car at home and choose active travel where possible. Poppies Our School Council members will be selling Poppies and other items in school from Tuesday 4th November to help raise money for the British Legion Poppy Appeal. There are also some other limited items available as listed below: School Council will visit all classes however, we cannot guarantee certain items will be available. Items and suggested donations (please feel free to donate more): Paper Poppies 50p Wristbands £1 Snap Bands £1 Reflectors 50p If your child would like to purchase a Poppy or any other item, please can we ask that you send the money into school in a clearly named envelope. 🎆As you are aware our PTA are holding their annual Fireworks Display this Thursday, 6th November. 📢There will be NO After School Clubs on this day📢 Thank you to all who have purchased tickets, they will be sent home this week, so please keep them safe as you will need to show them at the gate on Thursday. Please can we ask that you share the following information with neighbours and the local community, so that they are aware of the event, especially those with animals. 📢'The display will start at 18:45 and will last for 10 minutes approx. It is being professionally provided by Ian and his team at the Big Fireworks Shop. The event is only for for the family and friends of the school. The St Johns Ambulance will be on hand and all necessary risk assessments in place. The display is organised by the PTA, a very small group of 3 school mums, who organise these types of events to raise money for the school children. We recognise that fireworks are not for everybody and have looked into silent fireworks - unfortunately they are well out of our budget. Along with school, we have done everything we can to make the evening as safe as it can be. We hope that the community understands our decision to hold this very successful event once again, and our desire to create a magical experience for the children whilst raising much needed funds.' Dear Parents / Carers, We made it! What an amazing term it has been. The children have settled in brilliantly, and we are so proud—especially of our EYFS pupils who have adapted so well to new routines. Across the school, children have made a positive and enthusiastic start to their new year groups. Rock Steady Music School visited today, and the children had a fantastic time exploring instruments and making music! 🎶 Weekly Rock Steady lessons will now take place in school every Monday. A big thank you to all the parents and carers who attended Parents' Evening this week. They’ve been a great help around school and even had the opportunity to step into the role of a teaching assistant for the day—which they thoroughly enjoyed! Dear Parents and Carers, Although it has been a short week, it has been wonderful to see the children return to Locking Stumps full of excitement, looking smart and ready to learn. Honestly, they have been brilliant - school is so settled and learning has well and truly started. Your children are a credit to you. We have 30 new children in Early Years and another 8 brand new children to school - all have started to understand just how brilliant Locking Stumps is! Behaviour around school has been excellent, with children showing lovely manners and really embracing our school values. Well done to everyone! Reminders: Please ensure your child comes to school each day with all the items they need, including a water bottle, snack, and coat. PUT NAMES ON ALL ITEMS (We already have items in lost property!). After-School Clubs will begin the week commencing Monday 15th September. Please see the attached letter and the previous SchoolPing message for full details. Year 4 Swimming Lessons will start on Monday 8th September. Children will have an early packed lunch in their classroom before heading off for their swimming session—very exciting! Dear Parents / Carers, Wow – what a week it’s been! Again. Do we ever have a quiet week? We’ve had a jam-packed few days full of memorable moments: from the wonderful Ukulele and Choir performances, Tri Kidz events, Rugby competitions, litter picking, to a fun-filled Beach Day and the heart warming EYFS Graduation Assemblies. And we’re not done yet – we’re getting our glad rags on and dancing shoes ready for the Year 6 Leavers’ Disco this evening! School reports have now been sent home, and we’re sure you’ll be just as proud of your children’s achievements as we are. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported the PTA Summer Fair.
